Participants will examine the ELA Language Standards as a vertical progression of understanding and skills. Then, they will review, share and reflect on research and practices on effective teaching of these language skills.
May be completed individually or as a group.
Estimated time of completion: 5 Hours; 3 live online sessions and 2 offline June 23, 30 and July 7
Participants will explore current research and literature on the impact of reading digitally on comprehension and on instructional practices to help students read these texts effectively.
By the time students get tot he revision stage of writing, they often lack the motivation and skill to revise their writing effectively. In this session participants will share and
research ideas for improving student willingness to revise their writing and
skills in doing so. The class will begin with a live, online session for participants to meet and share ideas. This will be followed by independent time to read, research, reflect, and possibly test some revision activities. A final live, online session will allow participants to share their findings and plan for next steps.
